For Passengers

1.

Verify Your Driver

Always verify the driver and the vehicle before getting in. Check the driver's name, photo, and the licence plate number against the information provided in the app. Never share your personal information or your destination with someone who cannot prove their identity as your assigned driver.

2.

Share Your Trip Details

Use the 'Share Trip' feature provided by the app to let a trusted friend or family member know your exact location, route, and estimated time of arrival. This adds an extra layer of security by keeping someone informed of your journey.

3.

Wait Indoors

While waiting for your ride, it is safer to wait indoors, especially during nighttime. Avoid waiting alone in poorly lit or remote areas. The app will notify you when your driver is approaching, so you can step outside when they are nearby.

4.

Stay Alert

Always remain vigilant during the ride. Do not engage in activities that may distract you from your surroundings, such as texting, talking on the phone, or using headphones. Be aware of your surroundings and be prepared to react to any unexpected situations.

5.

Use In-App Communication

To protect your personal information, use the in-app messaging and calling features to communicate with your driver. This ensures your privacy and security by masking your personal phone number.

6.

Check Ratings and Reviews

Before booking a ride, check the driver's ratings and read reviews from previous passengers. This can give you a good idea of their service and reliability.

7.

Keep Belongings Secure

Keep your valuables such as phones, wallets, and travel documents in a secure bag and be mindful of them throughout your journey. Tap Taxi is not liable for lost or forgotten items, though our support team will do their best to assist in recovering them.

8.

Cross-Border Travel Tips

For trips crossing international borders (e.g., Cambodia–Thailand, Cambodia–Vietnam, Cambodia–Laos), ensure you carry valid identification and travel documents.

For Drivers

1.

Verify Passenger Information

Before starting a ride, confirm the passenger's name and the destination displayed on your app. This prevents you from picking up the wrong person or falling victim to fraudulent riders.

2.

Stay in Communication

Use the in-app communication features to contact your passengers if necessary. Avoid sharing your personal contact information, and discourage passengers from sharing theirs.

3.

Respect Personal Space

Respect your passengers' personal space and privacy. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanour at all times, and refrain from discussing sensitive topics.

4.

Report Safety Concerns

If you ever feel unsafe or encounter an emergency, report it through the app and call local law enforcement if necessary. Your safety and the safety of your passengers should always come first.

5.

Keep the Vehicle in Good Condition

Regularly maintain your vehicle to ensure it is in good working order. This includes brakes, tyres, lights, and all safety features. A well-maintained vehicle contributes to safer rides.

6.

Follow Local Regulations

Adhere to all local laws and regulations governing ride-sharing services. This includes licensing, insurance, and background checks as required by local authorities.

7.

Document Pre-Trip Condition

Before each trip, conduct a quick check of your vehicle's condition, fuel level, tyre pressure, lights, and interior cleanliness. Report any mechanical issues to your fleet manager before accepting rides.

8.

Fatigue Management

Do not drive when you are overly tired or unwell. Driver fatigue is a leading cause of road accidents, especially on long-distance routes. Take regular breaks on journeys exceeding two hours.

9.

Passenger Identity Check (Cross-Border)

For cross-border trips, politely ask to see the passenger's travel documents at the point of pick-up to confirm their identity matches the booking. Do not proceed if documents cannot be verified.

Platform and Data Security

1.

Secure Data Handling

Tap Taxi uses industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for all data transmitted between your device and our servers. Your payment information is processed by certified payment gateways and is never stored on Tap Taxi's servers.

To protect your Tap Taxi account: use a unique, strong password and do not share it with anyone. Log out of your account on shared or public devices.
